W9W Special Event Station

Flash Gallery

On June 18, 2011, the Henry County Amateur Radio Club hosted a special event station in Millville, Indiana for the Wilbur Wright Birthplace Festival. Using the call sign “W9W”, the group made just under 200 contacts around the world including 2 DX contacts. Special thanks to Gene (K9UOK) and Barry (AB9MT) for going out the day before and putting up antennas and to Bill (N9RHY) and Jay (KA9QIG) for organizing the event. It was a great time for all those who participated and a great way to promote ham radio! (wrote by Amber KC9TXY)

HCARC Polo Shirts

If you are interested in ordering a HCARC polo shirt you may do so now. Prices are $32.98 for sizes S-4XL. To pace your order, contact J.T. (KC9SQW) via the contact page, or stop by the Professional Creations store at 1202 Church St. and place your order.

Web Site Updates

We have been updating and making changes to the site. We have added a photo gallery page and a contact page. The photo gallery page has the pictures from practice field day and we will be adding more pictures of other events soon. The contact page can be used as a way to join the mailing list, request more information about the club, join the club, and to give us feedback about the site. Feel free to let us know what you think about the site.

Club E-Mailing List’s

We now have our new mailing list set up to go along with the new domain name. We sent out an email to everyone that was on the old list asking to join the new one. You can also join the list by clicking on the HCARC Mailing List page, filling out the form, and hitting Send.

Everyone the forums got spammed today. I have removed the offending users and deleted the spam posts. Sorry for any problems. I have changed a few settings that should prevent this in the future.

The HCARC will be hosting a hidden transmitter hunt on Saturday, December 4th.  The schedule of events is as follow:

7:00a – Breakfast at Bob Evans
8:30a – Start of the Hunt

We will try to do two separate hunts as time allows.

This event is open to anyone who is interested in attending whether you’re a licensed amateur or not. We can always use extra people to help others with driving, navigating and handling of equipment.

We hope you can join us on December 4th for fellowship and fun!!
